In one form or another, I have been a ferocious storyteller for my entire life. Born in Buffalo, New York, I am a former theater kid who completed his first novel at the age of fifteen and then proceeded to write another one every year through my time studying at Emerson College. I spent the next eleven years living and breathing the New York City advertising and fashion worlds, working first at VaynerMedia to create social content for Mr. Robot, The Magicians and other major television shows, then running Saks Fifth Avenue’s Instagram account, and ultimately landing at Pinterest where I was the in-house creative lead for North American fashion brands, collaborating closely with Nike and Ralph Lauren to translate cultural and retails trends into campaigns.

My storytelling vocation, however, has always been fiction writing and after settling back in Buffalo with my husband (who is also named Joey) and our rescue dog, Rooney, I found myself immersed again in the books that made me want to tell stories in the first place.

August 2025, I made the decision to take a step back from my role at Pinterest in order to prioritize my life long ambition to become a published author. I am open for contract and freelance remote creative positions while I chase this dream.
